Three-time defending Challenge Wanaka winner Gina Crawford will not be making the start at the 2011 version of the race on Saturday because she is expecting a baby, due in July, with her husband Brett.

Crawford told a local New Zealand newspaper about the news: “My husband and I are overjoyed to be expecting a new addition to our family and I am greatly looking forward to this next chapter of my life,” she said.

Crawford is a multiple Ironman winner, with her most recent victory coming at the 2010 Ironman Wisconsin triathlon.
