While the title of the Fittest CEO has been traditionally awarded at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, this year’s title will go to the fastest CEO at the USAT Age Group Nationals in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Sept. 25. The change comes with the hope that more executives will be able to commit to a shorter-distance triathlon.

CEO Challenge triathletes will be competing for the title of The Fittest CEO, as well as prestigious Team USA spots, at the 2010 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championship in September.
CEO Challenges will host the CEO Challenge Championship in conjunction with the USAT Age Group Nationals in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Sept. 25. The Olympic-distance event features a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer bicycle and a 10-kilometer run.
“In previous years we have awarded the title of World’s Fittest CEO® at the Hawaii Ironman World Championship,” said Ted Kennedy, president of CEO Challenges. “However, many very fit, fast CEOs find it impossible to fit a full Ironman into their work, travel and family schedules. As a result, we are pleased to offer the opportunity for the best CEO triathletes to join us in September and compete to see who is the best, and therefore, fittest of all!”
CEO Challenge competitors will be treated to first-class accommodations at the host hotel on the University of Alabama campus, a very special dinner with elite triathletes, all logistics including special race check-in and many opportunities to get to know fellow CEOs that share a passion for business and triathlon – all to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation charity.
One spot on Team USA for the 2011 ITU Age Group World Championships in Beijing will be awarded to the top CEO Challenge male finisher under 45, the top male 45 and over and the top finishing female CEO. Up to three Team USA spots in total will be awarded. CEOs are not required to previously qualify at a regional event to take part in the CEO Challenge Championship.
