Tough economic times have led the owners to decide to close the shop.
Loveland’s 3xFast, described as Colorado’s only full-service triathlon shop, is going out of business.
Owner Nick Sullivan said Wednesday, Dec. 14, that he will close the store Dec. 31.
He and his wife, Nadia, opened 3xFast: Swim-Bike-Run in April 2007, selling a wide range of clothing, equipment, accessories and bicycles for triathletes, runners, swimmers and cyclists.
Sullivan said economic conditions forced his decision to close. “The pinch of the economy has just been too great,” he said.
Before that, though, he said sales were great. “Even through last year, we were doing phenomenal, with double-digit growth through the end of last year.”
He will be selling his remaining inventory and the store’s fixtures through the end of the year, although the fixtures will have to stay until the last week, he said.
“We have a decent selection still in triathlon and running apparel, running shoes, a lot of wet suits left, and helmets of all types.” Everything in the store will be sold for up to 70 percent off, he said.
