The winner of the Miss Triathlete.com for the month of November is Cara B. of Boulder, Colo. You chose Cara B. with your votes! The win means that she is a finalist for the Title of Miss Triathlete.com 2010. Cara will also get $100 to spend on the TYR gear of her choice.
The overall winner will be chosen at the end of the year and will be featured in Triathlete’s annual swimsuit photo shoot. The winner will also receive $500 in merchandise from TYR.
We chatted with Cara to learn more about the personality behind the beauty:
Triathlete.com: How long have you been competing in triathlons?
Cara: I have been doing triathlons off and on for about 11 years. I took a few years off because I moved to Spain and New Zealand. The very first races I did, I would just do the swim and would watch the rest of the race because I didn’t think I could do the bike/run. I come from a competitive swimming background, I was New England Champion in the 100 meter breastroke and 200 IM for 4 years in high school and college.
Triathlete.com: What is your proudest accomplishment in the sport?
Cara: Last year I won my age group at the New England Regional Championships. I also really enjoy bringing others into the sport since it is such a passion of mine.
Triathlete.com: What does it mean to you to move on as a finalist in the contest?
Cara: It means a great deal to me to move onto the finals. Triathlon is such a huge part of my life, and I work very hard to stay fit and competitive in my age group. It is an honor to be included with all these other athletic ladies!
Triathlete.com: Do you have a background in modeling?
Triathlete.com: What do you think you’ll spend your $100 from TYR on?
Cara: A triathlon race bag and a swim suit.
Triathlete.com: What do you like to do for fun outside of the sport?
Cara: I am a pharmacist, which I enjoy, and I love to do other sports in the offseason. I take a full five months off from swim/bike/run. I like to ski, snowboard, read and spend time with family.
