The 42-year-old Spaniard Eneko Llanos pulled off an impressive win at the inaugural Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz. Thanks to a brilliant performance he celebrated the win in 7:55:16. Llanos was in a good position in the swim and fully focused on the bike. Once on the run, he was uncontested in his hometown. The crowd celebrated Llanos in great style, and the experienced racer nailed a fantastic win.
Heather Jackson delivered in style in the women’s competition. The American took over on the bike and hit the gas on the run. The 35-year-old was clearly on the way to the win early, but she maintained a great pace until she crossed the line in 8:52:10.
