He's broken Jesse Thomas' six-year Wildflower winning streak. Say hello to Rudy Von Berg.

Born in the US and raised in France, the 24-year old raced the ITU circuit before focusing on the 70.3 distance. He credits his father, Rudolphe Von Berg, for his love of triathlon.

“What triggered my attraction to triathlon was a trip to Kona in 1998 where my father, one of the pioneers of triathlon in his country, Belgium, went on to win his 40-44 age group in the Hawaii Ironman. I remember finding that extraordinary,” he told the ITU.

He raced the 70.3 European Championships last year with his father, the first time in Ironman 70.3 history a father and son competed together at that event.

And now he’s broken Jesse Thomas’ six-year Wildflower winning streak. Say hello to Rudy Von Berg.
