The Draw: Oldie But Goodie

There’s a reason why the Cervélo P3 is one of the most popular bikes in transition at most tris: Though the frame design got a makeover in 2013, the P3 (or P3C as it was once called) is still one of the most well-rounded framesets in the sport. A smooth ride, coupled with responsive acceleration and well-aligned handling prove that sometimes if you get something right, you don’t mess with it. Keep in mind, however, that the price tag on this setup is close to a lot of other completely race-ready bikes, and the P3 still comes with fairly mid-range components—wheels in particular. A few additions to this classic model will make the P3 a killer machine for all distances because, as they say in real estate, this thing has incredible bones.
