For many pros this event serves as the final race opportunity before focusing on the final build up to Kona.

A strong roster of professional triathletes are set to compete at the popular Ironman 70.3 Timberman triathlon in Gilford, N.H. this Sunday, Aug. 16. For many pros this event serves as the final race opportunity before focusing on the final build up to October’s Ironman World Championship on the Big Island.

In the men’s race, defending champion Leon Griffin (AUS) will face off against four-time race winner Andy Potts (USA). It will be far from a two-person competition as top names Tim O’Donnell (USA), Cameron Dye (USA), Richie Cunningham (AUS), Paul Matthews (AUS), Trevor Wurtele (CAN), Drew Scott (USA) and Dylan McNeice (NZL) will all be on the start line.

For the women, it is a wide open race with the entire top five from 2014 not choosing to compete this year. Likely the race will come down to a battle between three of the strongest athletes in the sportRachel Joyce (GBR), Heather Jackson (USA) and Angela Naeth (CAN). Other podium contenders include Rebekah Keat (USA), Liz Lyles (USA), Amber Ferreira (USA) and Jennifer Spieldenner (USA)
