...before I hear the "official" verdict on Tuesday.
To add some interest to the mix...I've finally gotten an appointment w/local chronic pain doctor, who uses prolotherapy (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolotherapy) - traditionally used for osteoarthritis particularly in hip/back - but according to the interwebs has been used successfully on meniscus.
I still figure the Orthopedic surgeon is going to recommend NO surgery. My family doctor tells me that I have the right to demand the surgery anyway. From what I've researched, the risk of throwing a clot is real but still relatively low.
Assuming prolotherapy either isn't an option OR it doesn't work, I have some difficult decisions to make. Do I resign myself to not running and maybe cycling for the remainder of my life? (that makes me all kinds of sad just THINKING it!!) Or do I risk the danger of developing a blood clot - at best similar to what I've dealt with before/at worst...heh.
Helluva a choice huh?!?
